We should be reducing the total number of constituencies to a maximum 50.
Good to hear. Ghana doesn't need more than 200 MP's but here we are with 275. We don't need any new constituency again. Check the contributions of the 275 MP's in the floor of the house and at committee meetings. Information is that 1/3 of the total number are those doing actual MP work in the house. The rest are all yeah, yeah. If not in Ghana where can an honourable member of parliament absent herself for close to one year without given any reasons to the speaker and still receive salary. As if that is not enough she still wants to come back as MP in 2025. Can a teacher, nurse, civil servant or loca government staff absent him or herself from office for one year without informing his or her head of department and still receive salary? If parliament were your private business will you allow one of your labourers to absent him or herself for long without replacement? There are more pressing issues bothering this country than creation of new needless new constituencies. Oc
