With the New Patriotic Party electing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as their presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential elections, the Vice President has spared no minute to share his vision with Ghanaians.
The Vice President seized an opportunity at the Accra Sports Stadium, where he was delivering his victory speech, to tell Ghanaians what he hopes to achieve and the need for them to vote him and his party into power.
The New Patriotic Party seeks to set a record for breaking the eight-year cycle of governance that has characterized the nation since its democratic transition, and the party believes the right leader to bring this vision to fruition is Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Dr. Bawumia, who was overwhelmed and thrilled by the confidence that the party members and supporters have reposed in him, vowed to make the life of the Ghanaian youth better.
"I want to lead a nation that improves and unleashes the talents of our youth and offers good jobs with good pay and sustainable growth with macroeconomic discipline," he pledged.
He added, "As the presidential candidate of the NPP, it would be my commitment to the youth of Ghana. The talent of our youth in various sectors such as information technology, robotics, entrepreneurship, creative arts, sports, etc. is just amazing."
"When we bring the talents of the youth together, we will surely build a mighty nation. Together, we can transform this nation and even do more in many areas," the Veep emphasized.
The Vice President will compete in the 2024 elections with former President John Dramani Mahama, who is the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Next year's election has been dubbed the 'Clash of the Titans' by some political analysts and commentators as the two northern bigwigs go head-to-head in the contest.

***barred word*** bloke
Gullible @Obi-Ba has already jumped on the bandwagon of deception. When has the words of politicians in Ghana aligned with their deeds? They know the right thigs to say but the don't know the right things to do when they get power. Was it not the same Bawumia who said it was wrong to tax MOMO of the poor? What is happening under his vice presidency? " Nurses are suffering, teachers are suffering,..etc". Today not only are the suffering, they are dying and some are leaving in droves in search of greener pastures. A curse on anyone who votes for Bawumia to continue the suffering of Ghanaians. He is simply clueless with managing a country. It is as if Mahama's words have followed him.
Dr Bawumia still has not woken up from his drunken stupor caused by the endorsement of deligates within his corruptt party who were induced by money. He wrongly thinks the corruptt delegates whom he paid 400 for "transportation" is a microcosm of the voting population in Ghana. How Bawumia was able to fork out a whooping 81,375,600 to pay delegates should be of concern to the people of Ghana. Come December ,2024 Ghanaians will show this ediot that we are not as dumbb as he thinks we are. Lying that he will be his own man, even his immediate family are not convinced by that statement. Economically, he could not answer any of the questions he asked late Amissah Arthur. Once bitten, twice shy.
I find it very interesting , Doc really think we are that weak minded ? Just yesterday people you worked with were stealing left and right . Pilling up wealth whilst you and your boss looked unconcern . Some of us have not forgotten what you told us as vice , you can’t be licking our minds like kids . Enjoy being the leader of the party and quit dreaming to be a president of Ghana. You go explain Taya
I agree with Kofi and partly with Obi-ba. No discerning person who understands what times we are in and what the future portends will undermine the need for Science and data driven technology to dominate our policies and political philosophy. The problem is that we have seen enough of a people who appear to say all the right and nice things, yet do the opposite when given the opportunity, and classical example is Bawumia and Nana Addo. Judging from their history, and their conduct in the just ended primaries, it suffices to say that whatever he's saying now is just a lipservice. A futuristic person with sophisticated thinking system will not steal money to bribe electorates in order to be elected, that's where all the roots of corruption and recipe for disastrous and abysmal performance originate from. Bawumia has already started on a terrible note and undoubtedly, he'll toll the lines of his boss

Dr. Bawumia has struck the right chord when he says that creating jobs for the youth of Ghana's huge youth population is one of his priorities. More so when he targets direct employment in information technology, robotics, and entrepreneurship, a sector that has become a huge aspiration in the global space. I believe he can achieve this feat because we have seen it in his passion for the digitalization agenda to formalize the economy in terms of widening the tax net and rendering certain social services. The choice of Dr. Bawumia as the presidential candidate in the NPP primaries is a watershed in bringing a new face to the space that, hitherto, has been dominated by the aging candidates.
Another set of lies loading. What have you done in these 7 years to show that you have this vision and are committed to youth employment? Poor thought through and short lived NABCO whose only accomplishment was to serve as a vehicle for you guys to enrich yourselves? You deliberately collapsed only Ghanaian owned banks causing hundreds of thousands of job losses. You spent more money to do this than it wil require to revamp the banks and even if government takes all or part of the ownership, instead, you resorted to the envy and witchcraft option. Meanwhile, you in collaboration with the BoG governors committed the same offences of the executives of the defunct banks which caused a whopping 60B loss to BoG. Your government's stealing and grabbing agenda ensured a total collapse of the economy causing millions of Ghanaians to lose their capitals and life savings. You this same person are here promising jobs to who? You think we're all illiterates?
