Seasoned journalist, Kwesi Pratt has slammed those pitching the political contest between Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and former President John Dramani Mahama as a clash of the Northerners.
Kwesi Pratt wondered where such thing is coming from stressing where a President emanates from is absolutely irrelevant to the progress of the nation and Ghanaian livelihoods.
The election of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has set the stage for a real showdown with former President John Mahama of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Jubilee House in 2024.
And with both presidential hopefuls hailing from the northern part of the country, some people have labeled next year's election as the 'battle of the North' but Kwesi Pratt finds this very outrageous.
"If you choose a President who hail from Berekum, how does that reduce inflation? If you elect a President from Sogakope, how will that reduce our debt?", he questioned.
He asked that such claims are dropped, stressing what is important is to "elect leaders who will work hard to remove our burdens".
Mr. Pratt gave these comments during Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" programme Friday morning.

Kwesi Pratt, the legendary hypocritical character. You describe this hypocrite as a seasoned journalist? Seasoned journalist my foot!
Interesting, others are even bringing the secondary schools they attended inside politics. Bawumia (Tamale secondary school: TAMASCO ) and John Mahama ( Ghana secondary school, Tamale: GHANASCO) What these people forget is that we have people from both NDC and NPP who attended these schools. We have old Tamascans who are NDC stalwarts i.e. Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu, Alhaji Huudu Yahaya, Prof Joshua Alabi etc. John Mahama's brother Ibrahim Mahama is an old Tamascan. We equally have NPP stalwarts who attended Ghanasco. Will Ibrahim Mahama, Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu, Alhaji Huudu Yahaya and Prof Joshua Alabi vote for Bawumia simply because they are all old boys of Tamale secondary school and the vice versa. What has politics got to do with tribe, religion, school attended, where your wife or husband hails from, marital status among others. Are we saying that you can't be president of Ghana if you belong to a minority ethnic group however honest and hardworking one is? Well have made politics too petty in Ghana such that people now see so called politicians as con men and clowns. But for politics how can a beginner in life call a self made man a religious ***barred word***.
This guy is a seasoned hypocriite than a journalist!
This guy is so evil! You would have heard what would have come through those teeth of his had the NPP elected another AKAN as a flag bearer! Bawumiah's enemies are running for cover! They know it is his time to become President. The tribal card propaganda they had wanted to use to campaign against the NPP fall flat
