Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has raised concerns over the Member of Parliament for Akuapem North, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei, crossing over to win the Okaikwei North New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary election.
The NPP held its orphan constituency primaries over the weekend and Nana Ama Dokua, who currently represents Akuapem North in Parliament, beat the former deputy chief executive of MASLOC, Alberta Afia Akoto, to become the parliamentary candidate for the Okaikwei North into the 2024 elections.
In the stead of Hon. Dokua, the Director General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), Sammi Awuku, has been unanimously declared the NPP parliamentary candidate for the Akuapem North constituency.
But the Editor-in-Chief of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt has some questions for Hon. Nana Ama Dokua.
Speaking on Peace FM's morning show "Kokrokoo", Mr. Pratt wondered how possible can it be for Nana Ama Dokua to effectively work for the Akuapem North constituents now that she has been elected to represent another constituency.
Without suggesting anything in particular as to whether or not she should step down, Kwesi Pratt however found it contradictory to the laws of Ghana for a sitting MP to represent a different constituency while her tenure of office hasn't elapsed.
"How can you effectively represent them in Parliament today given the fact that it is left with more than one year before the elections? Within this one year, you will be working in another constituency...What should be the proper interpretation of this action?", he questioned.

@ Babe. Just because there were political prostitutessss on the side of the NDC does not make it right for the NPP to do the same. Well, Mr Pratt can cut and paste as he pleases, my concern is the merit of the issue irrespective of Mr Pratt's motive.
Which law did she break? Ras Mubarak stood as PC in Accra in 2012 he lost. In 2016 switched to the North and won his seat. Double agent Kwesi Pratt did not see that. Give us a break! Btw is GQ the embattled MP for is he serving his constituency?
@eric and Tetteh it’s the likes of you that these empty politicians treat us anyhow. You find nothing wrong with the fact that a sitting Mp will cross constituencies after the people of akuapem north gave her the chance to represent them on two or more occasions. Just because she knows she will lose to Sammy Awuku she decided to switch and we being shallow minded still voted for her. Anyway she doesn’t deserve to be in parliament so I’m glad she moved to a constituency that she will lose.
I think Mr. Pratt has a legitimate concern, in that emotional attachment to a constituency must play an important role. If you do not underestimate the fact that when you represent a constituency, you are dealing with human beings to improve their livelihoods, and their emotions become very sensitive, you cannot easily compromise them at any cost for political ambition. Otherwise, you will be acting like a political prostituteee.

This one the experienced old man got it wrong. She is still MP for Akuapim North. It's not like she has crossed parties but within same party, she is MP for AN and only an elected candidate, not even a full candidate yet, as no filing at EC.
Pratt has lost relevance in our political space, where is she an NPP now?Is she not effectively representing them ,so where from this assertion?
