The General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, has pleaded with President Akufo-Addo to do a reshuffle in his government for new faces to continue and retain power for the party in the next election.
"It is time for a reshuffle in governance. I will plead with the President - I know there have been talks - it is time for changes within the government . . . It is time for some changes in the government so we get some new faces to continue. We believe that if we get new appointments, we will be able to retain power in the next election,” he told the gathering on Friday, December 22.
According to Justin Frimpong Kodua, Ministers, CEOs, and MMDCEs who are tired must consider resigning rather than undermining the party’s progress.
Expressing concern about the conduct of certain appointees whose actions affect the party’s popularity, Kodua stated, “If you are tired, resign and leave so the party can retain power.”
“If you are a Minister, a CEO or an MMDCE and you have not been reshuffled and you think you are tired, resign, don’t sabotage the party.”
In his address at the party’s annual Thanksgiving service held at the party headquarters, Kodua asserted that appointing new faces is essential to propel the NPP towards achieving its objectives.

first in history that ruling party top herachy agree that government appointees are uselesssss including the president and vice. too late unless you calling for other to come and steal the little left
This General Secretary is an NDC member in NPP wool. He is trying to blackmail Mr. President
Gen sec. Too too late for any new faces to make any meaningful impact . Well meaning NPP members started calling for a reschuffle immediately after Akuffo Addo won his second term in 2021 but he will not listen to anybody but himself. Am happy high ranking members of the party such ss the general secretary has now seen sense in what ordinary party supporters were calling for. With less than 1 year to the 7 December, 2024 polls, what positive impact will any new face bring? Like a car engine, the NPP will have to go for overhauling after Akuffo Addo and his appointees are gone. Am Happy the general secretary himself has come to admit that some of the appointees have come to make the party very unpopular. The fear is that if the NPP goes into opposition in 2025 it will be extremely difficult to revamp the party because the appointees have deliberately refused to empower the party's businessmen and women . All the money is in the hands of the appointees and knowing how greedy, selfish and inward looking they are, how many of them will be ready to fund the party's activities in their constituencies and regions. I know NPP constituency and regional chairmen who are worse off today than they were in 2016. In this government every minister, deputy minister, CEO, presidential staffer is a road or building contractor/ suppliers especially those that have monies sitting in the accounts. Some of the appointees out of shame sometimes doll out GOG funded projects to some party supporters knowing the money will never be paid on time. I know of NPP members some of whom sold their cargo trucks, taxis and landed properties to undertake road projects in 2020, as at today, they haven't been paid, some have even passed on. How will you " break the 8" with a hungry army? Again the call by the General secretary is coming too too late. Any leader who will not listen to anybody but himself will end up representing nobody but himself. This is exactly what is happening in the NPP .
Election 2024 - Referendum on 8 years of NPP Stewardship! Very simple. Is the Ghanaian Economy better in 2024 than in 2017? Are Ghanaian waterbodies (rivers, etc) and forest cover better in 2024 than in 2017? Very simple question. Vote accordingly.
So others can also get the chance to steal ,right? When did you realize reshuffling was needed? See this ediot with the eyes like a bull-frog!
It doesn’t have to take the chief scribe to remind the president to reshuffle his appointees. What’s the job of the chief of staff?? It means the chief of staff doesn’t know her job. She must be sacked immediately. She must be the one to advise the president on the performance of his appointees.
They are not tired. They rather lack ideas and competence including the president and the vice. Did I hear him say that they will retain power if the president reshuffles? What are they coming to do in 12 months? Just coming to fill their pockets. We didn’t see anything in 7 years so how can things turn around in 12 months. Ghanaians didn’t patronize the just ended district level elections because everyone is waiting for 7 December 2024, to vote out the monster 👹 called NPP!
