The best way to appreciate the transformation of Ghana in the last seven years is to retain the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Minister for Education, has said.
He said any decision contrary to the retention of the NPP in power by Ghanaians would only truncate the transformation agenda which was already yielding positive results in all sectors of the economy.
Dr Adutwum who was speaking at a ceremony to present Christmas gifts to over 500 widows at Jachie in the Ashanti Region, said no law restricted Ghanaians to give their mandate to a party that had performed to continue after eight years in office.
“One good term deserves another, and I believe you are all witnesses to the massive infrastructural development that this government has undertaken here in Bosomtwe,” he told the widows.
The Education Minister who doubles as the Member Parliament (MP) for Bosomtwe in the last seven years has been showing love to selected widows in the constituency by presenting Christmas gifts to them on New Year’s Day.
Each of the beneficiaries drawn from all the electoral areas in the constituency received a piece of cloth and a token to enable them to enjoy the festive season.
Dr Adutwum argued that the level of impact that the free senior high school policy had had on every Ghanaian home was unprecedented.
To him, no government could manage and sustain the policy better than the NPP and stressed the need to maintain the party to protect its legacy under the leadership of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
The NPP, according to him, remained the best option to drive Ghana’s development agenda to the desired destination anchored on digitalisation.
He told his constituents to continue to keep faith with the NPP to benefit from more development projects and the completion of ongoing ones across the constituency.
He assured them of the completion of the main road from Kumasi to Kuntanase which is currently at Abidjan Nkwanta to boost the local economy.
The Minister encouraged the women to take keen interest in the education of their children and grandchildren, reminding them of how their education could turn around the fortunes of their families.

TRANSFORMING GHANA INDEED
They think they’ve done so well. That’s the problem with this administration! And it flies in the face of commons as to even condone such ludicrous ideas let alone come out and say them! All that politicians do is saddle we, the people, with inferior notions of what it means to exist while they enjoy all the trappings of power. What do they take us for? But, well, you can’t blame them, can you? Not when the people are easily swayed by fake promises and hollow ambitions with no sense of appreciation that citizens aren’t subjects of the people who occupy positions in government and other places of influence! All these silly ideas of success continue to be tossed about because there’s no real pressure on any politician to seek the welfare of the people. Left to me alone, until we’ve done for ourselves what the likes of China and other places of serious-minded people have done for themselves, nobody should come and tell us that they’ve done a good job! We cannot see it! We’re still poor and majority of our people still don’t earn more than $200 a month! How is that a life?
Dr. Adutwum, you are one of the few among the many ministers in this government that still commands a respectable level of respect in the eyes of the citizens. Fact is free senior high school is a good policy, unfortunately this policy alone is not enough. The many scandals in this government seems to have eroded whatever goodwill the people of Ghana had in the NPP government prior to the 2016 elections. I have every reason to believe that the NPP is closer to "breaking the 8" than the NDC but for some P-one-nic errors of your boss, ie the appointing authority. Ghanaians generally have a soft spot for the NPP due to the impressive policies of former president Kufuor and his readiness to hear from all sorts of people. Kufour knew very well that majority of the youth who constitute majority of Ghana's population currently did not see the Busia regime of 1969-1972 so he worked extra hard to entrench the NPP firmly on the ground. One would have thought that the current president who took over from kufour as the flag barer would have picked some lessons from his boss ( Kufuor) under who he served as a minister for 7 years. Majority of Ghanaians were of the believe that Akuffo Addo will outperform kufour. But alas, the evidence is there for all to see that he didn't pick any lessons from kufour but choose his own path acting and behaving like " am the boss, what i say is final, my views and wishes are superior to any other view " thus the current challenges if not mess in which Ghana finds itself.Even within the nuclear family there must be a child who is able to tell the father the truth in his face. Father this step you are taking is wrong, do it this other way and the way will be clear for our future. The father listens and the family is happy together, but where you have a father who will not listen to anybody except himself, the father is the one who's children abandons him when he grows old. If the NPP were like a nuclear family your boss will not find any of his children around him when he grows old. Don't you admire the respect kufour still commands amongst the Ghanaian people and the international community even on his retirement from the presidency? This is because he listens a lot and considers the views of others in what ever he did when he was president, the reason why he's undoubtedly the most successful president in Ghana's fourth republic. Am for NPP but truth be told, your boss has only come to succeed in making Mahama look like a saint. But for the avoidable errors of your boss, John Mahama will never have ventured to come back to Ghanaians to ask for their mandate to rule this country again. He's definitely not the alternative, unfortunately your boss has made Mahama very popular. Dr Adutwum, you are from the Ashanti region, the strong hold of the NPP. What has Akuffo Addo done for the region based on which you can look them in face to justify why they should still hold firm to the NPP. Take education, health, roads infrastructure one on one. Can Akuffo Addo beat John Mahama in Ashanti with reference to these areas mentioned? Remember the NPP can no longer campaign on kufour's records just as Mahama cannot campaign on Rawlings/Mills records. Any attempt by the NPP to campaign on kufour's records at this time will amount to admission of failure on your part. Bet me the NPP has a mountain Kilimanjaro task to convince their own party members not to talk of Ghanaians in general. 2024 is with us, let's see what happens. The Nigerians have a saying thus " Meat that has fat will prove it by the heat of fire".
Thank you! Transformation indeed the youth in the country especially teachers from the various varsity's are paying bribe of fifteen thousand and above to get employment , not to about the security services one has to pay thirsty thousand plus to get the uniform. Corruption all over and you called this transformation?.
You obviously don't understand the word transform. ***barred word*** group of people. Text books self , aye asem.
Well-spoken Dr. Adutwum. Education is the only way to transform Ghana.
This is the reason why Ghana must vote overwhelmingly against the NPP, to show our non acceptance of disappointing & disastrous governance, and untold corruption, not because we believe Mahama and NDC are better. Our goal is to one day get useful human beings as the alternative!
Nansense!
