The National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Stephen Ntim, is optimistic about the NPP breaking the eight with Dr. Bawumia.
Giving his welcome address at the University of Professional Studies in Accra, the national chairman reposed confidence in the Vice president who doubles as the 2024 flagbearer of the NPP, Mr Ntim noted that the Vice President will deliver on his mandate as the New president of Ghana come 2024.
The Vic President, Dr. Mahmud Bawumia is expected to share the vision for his new government come 2025 when he resumes office after the December 2024 general elections.
The National Chairman, however, called on party supporters and sympathisers to rally behind the Vice President and flagbearer of the NPP to give him a resounding victory come December 2024.
He said, ''It is possible to break the eight. I urge all party faithfuls to rally their support behind our candidate as we go to the December general elections''.
He congratulated Dr Bawumia on his assumption into the high office of the party as the Party's leader.

Chairman, yes it's possible. However before you call on party supporters and sympathizers to rally behind Bawumia, also do your background checks on the plight of party supporters who made sacrifices in diverse ways to ensure the Nana Addo wins power. Bet me the plight of majority of them is pathetic . They were better off pre 2017 compared to today. I know key and die hard NPP supporters who executed road projects in 2018 and at today they have not been paid a pesewa, some have parked their vehicles and are now on motor bikes. What is the motivation for such people who exert a lot of influence in their communities to rally behind Bawumia to " break the 8" ? As if this is not enough some of your regional ministers/ sector ministers/ MMDCEs are very ethnocentric, wicked, greedy and above all full of empty pride. Some of them could hardly afford a motorbike to call their own are today disrespecting people who made special contributions in support of the party in 2016. Bawumia has a lot of work in his hands. Truth be told, majority of NPP supporters are not happy . Elections has nothing to do with ones economic or social standing . The value of the vote of a kayaye, street hawker, truck pusher, trotro driver, Okada rider is same as that of Bawumia. This, some of your appointees don't know. Some of your appointees don't have their own biological children or child who is/ are 18 years old and above to queue to vote for the NPP to " break the 8". To such arrogant and empty pride appointees, who's 18 year old and above are you relying on to queue to " break the 8" for you to continue to be ministers , flag house staffers , CEO's and MMDCEs . They should ponder over this and humble themselves. Bawumia is good, his problem is the NPP not the NDC . B Why will any finance minister in his right frame of mind be imposing 15% VAT on electricity 10 months to election? How? A 2017 elephant with very big ears as usual, unfortunately it doesn't listen. At best it hears but won't listen. Rather u fortunate
