Independent Presidential Candidate and Leader of the Movement for Change, Mr. John Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, has described his record while in service for the Akufo Addo led government as distinguished.
According to the Movement for Change leader, he was able to help the Akufo-Addo government to implement the most successful developmental programme of the government.
Mr. Alan added that, before resigning as the Trades Minister, the Industrialization Campaign he was championing as sector minister, saw to the establishment of 296 factories that were at various stages of completion.
Speaking on the One District One Factory (1D1F) agenda on TV3's "Hot Issues", monitored by Peacefmonline.com, the former Trade Minister said that the 1D1F initiative that he introduced when serving in the Akufo-Addo government is the most innovative programme in the country’s industrial transformation.
"The most innovative programme in industrial transformation, it was a big success, the president speaks about it, the vice president speaks about it.
“But we didn’t optimise the deployment of resources, which could have made it even more successful. This is probably the best programme this government can boast of. Before I exited, we had 296 factories at different stages of implementation,” he added.
He therefore gave the assurance that “If I am president I would prioritize, for example, the implementation of the 1d1F because that is where the jobs are coming from, you ensure that you prioritize the deployment of resources to the areas you can optimise the most benefits. If you audit my record, it is a very distinguished record.

Alan does not get it. Alan, why are you campaigning on what you did as a Minister? Even if what you are saying was true, it is unnecessary. And we know you were not the best amongst the Ministers too. Why is Alan vision less in his campaign? Why is not focusing on what he will do if elected? Even an SSS School Prefect Candidate knows he has to campaign on what he will do if elected. Alan, tell us how you will change the constitution to fix the problems with our country. Tell us how you will effectively lead your government. What is your vision to correct what cripples this nation? You are out of touch with what our real issues are as a country - no accountability! As for being a good minister, I don't expect Cecilia Dapaah to come and tell us how bad she was. So think about this and restrategise.
How can you approbate and reprobate, you claim the good side of the government and say you were not part of it when it comes to the bad ones, you poorly implemented one district one factory, this is a private sector led and you could Marshall Ghanaians to support it fully, you could push for reduction in taxes on raw materials. This government despite some of its short comings is one of the best. To have implemented free education for almost 8 years is not an easy task and bet you the NDC can't do it and pray they win the election and implement the free education for just 4 years with IMF conditionality, we as Africans need free education and wish we can make universities also free, push for more IT courses like AI and robotics and see if we can't dominate the world of science. That is the new gold, every tech company in America is going to India because they chose this path, and Indians are dominating in the tech industry.
Alan is not a smart politician. He shouldn’t have campaigned against the government he has been in for almost seven years. We all know Akuffu Addo wasn’t Kufour’s preferred candidate but Akuffu Addo didn’t say a word against Kufour or the government that Akuffu Addo was integral part of it. This is what smart politicians do. Npp will never forgive Alan for criticising a party that he has been a parcel of it and I believe Ken Agyapong will never also be forgiven for the way and manner he condemned the party that he is also the one of the pillars.
you never defended 1D1F, today you wants votes so you say you introduced it, it is a lie. you didn't introduce it.
