A senior researcher at the Kumasi Technical University, Prof. Smart Sarpong has advised the Ghana Freedom Party to exit this year's December presidential election.
Contributing to Peace FM's flagship programme "Kokrokoo", the Professor asked the party to do this in respect for their late leader, Akua Donkor.
Celebrating Akua Donkor, Prof. Smart Sarpong noted "she is an example to many" especially looking at her lack of quality education but defying all odds to become a presidential aspirant.
But to him, the Ghana Freedom Party which has been given a 10-day ultimatum by the Electoral Commission to elect a new flagbearer should rather abstain from the elections in honor of the deceased.
"Let's have respect for the woman and pull your flags down. I haven't yet seen their flag but if you have it, by now, it should be down and you declare that, for the respect for the woman, you won't contest this year's election", he told Nana Yaw Kesseh, sit-in host of the show.
