Renowned Music producer and Sound Engineer Edward Opoku known in show-biz circles as Hammer, C.E.O of �The Last Two Music Group, was arrested and detained last Friday afternoon, November 6th.
He was picked up immediately after a press conference held at the plush Royal Richester Hotel, East Legon, Accra, by one of the artiste on his record label, Ayigbe Edem.
Hammer, was in the center of affairs of the press conference he organised for Edem, to address the issue of an alleged mobile phone, he (Edem) was said to have stolen.
The phone, said to cost over 14 thousand dollars ($14,000), belonged to Ayigbe Edem�s ex-lover Confidence Hengan, C.E.O of Afrodisiac Night club.
An investigation by Peacefmonline indicates that Hammer�s arrest was caused by his ex-girlfriend, who lodged a case against him (Hammer) for failing to provide for the upkeep of a child a child she had with him. The police subsequently effected Hammer�s arrest.
Hammer was initially sent to the East Legon Police station and later transferred to the Airport Police station. He has being released, whiles the case has been referred to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police.

Meanwhile at the press conference, Ayigbe Edem, was categorical in his denial that, he had not stolen a mobile phone as being alleged in some newspapers.
He admitted dating Confidence for about eight months but the relationship, he said, turned sour so he decided to break up with her citing personal reasons.
�The phone got missing in May when we attended the Aboakyire festival. We realised that on our way back to Accra. We had to even stop the two cars we were travelling in at a point and searched the cars together with Confidence, but we couldn�t find it...At that time Confidence didn�t express any worry, as she even said it was just a phone and that we should forget about it," Edem stated at the press conference.
According to Edem, what caused him to respond to the allegation was the fact that, Confidence posted on her Facebook wall that �My boyfriend has stolen my phone� which (Edem) said he was surprised to see.
�Confidence rubbished the whole missing phone issue as far back as May, so I see no reason why, she should post it on facebook," the artiste said.
Ayigbe Edem is one of the freshest hip-life artiste known for his rap command over the Ewe language. He was first featured on "The Last Two" third compilation titled "Crude of The Lost Files". He is currently promoting his first album, "The Volta Regime" released on "The Last Two Music" Label.
