QWECi is no alien to working in the Ghanaian music industry, he has shared stage with Stevie Wonder at PANAFEST 1994, he also got an official invitation from Ex President Jerry John Rawlings to perform at the 1st ever peace concert held in Ghana, Miss Ghana and other major shows which are just a few shows he has headlined.

Before African pop genre gained grounds in Ghana, QWECi was doing real R&B in Ghana in the late 90s and he is still being labeled as Ghana’s Usher who does R&B in Akan till date.

Armed with more than a decade of experience in the game and many heavy hit songs like “Asa”, “Onipa”, “Sansankroma” and “Auntie Araba” he still claims he has a lot to put forward.

Fans can expect to hear elements of both classy and higher life songs on his 2nd solo LP. QWECi will be driving down the same lane of the radio-friendly R&B tunes that he crafted with A-list producers.

The album’s first single, “Handz Up” is quickly becoming a fan favorite as it was sent to music download sites. His track listing is yet to be finalized for the new album, but QWECi is confident that “Handz Up,” a soulful tune he wrote with a distinct pop vibe, will make the cut.

“I produced and wrote ‘Handz Up’ with the same idea I had for ‘Abofra Wisia’, my first class hit. It has a catchy verse and the chorus will make people around want to dance”, he said.

“As an artiste I have gained a buzz in the US with songs like ‘No Afraid’ and ‘One Blood Family’ with Junior Reid but I still feel strong about our saying sankofa (which means going back to my roots). I love Ghana and me being away was great for my career because I’ve mastered the art of music and promise my fans to do hit after hit”, he said about his Higher Life album title. For now, Qweci knows no turning back.
