Ghana's Best New Artiste and Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the year, Kaakie has really stepped up her game as promised her fans with the first leg of her tour, THE KAAKIT UP tour in Tamale as she performed to the amazement of everyone present. Her high energy from start to end was incomparable to any of her performances.
She came on stage riding on a white horse, clad in a dress like a royal princess and accompanied by a royal entourage. Kaakie performed for nearly an hour with her dancers, her well-planned performance saw her beginning with Samini who helped her onto the stage from the horse.
She performed "Papistic" and "Body flame" with him, then quickly made an exit together as she went backstage to change while her dancers performed the first part of "Designer Bumper". She joined them mid way through that performance till the end of that song. She proceeded with full energy and performed her hit songs including "Toffee Pon Tongue", "Zuuchia", "Too Much" a bit of "Ewo" "Top Gyal" and then finally "DC
Tun Up" accompanied by a great choreography with her dancers.
Kaakie’s performance would have been incomplete without speaking about her Maternal Health campaign as she paused within her performance to speak to the crowd about Unsafe abortions and Maternal health.
On stage Kaakie told the audience that if they were not ready to give birth they “should protect themselves with condoms and if they found themselves to be pregnant, they shouldn't resort to unsafe abortions as some of the equipments used during such activities could perforate their wombs leading to the destruction of their wombs”. She urged the young men and women at the event to start taking some of these precautionary measures to avoid some of these situations as the ladies
Maternal Health is very important she added.
Earlier on when a royal recitation started to usher her into the stadium, the 6,000 plus fans at the Tamale Sports Stadium who had waited till 4:30am to see her perform went into a state of frenzy and couldn't sit still throughout her performance. They particularly sang every line of "Toffee Pon Tongue" the song that earned her the Reggae/Dancehall award at the VGMA's and "Zuuchia" with her.
Bullhaus Entertainment's Bulldog who produced the show for Rackus Productions and was obviously awed by Kaakie's performance commented that, The Tamale performance is the best Kaakie performance he's seen in recent times. Bull Dog was known to be one of the very peculiar critics of Kaakie’s performances but with the whooshing performed she displayed, Bull Dog had to eat a humble pie and admit Kaakie truly is the best female on the rock.
Other music greats that performed on the show include Ghetto KB, Kofi Kinataa, Natural Face, Stonebwoy, Edem, Kwaw Kesse and High grade general Samini. The event also saw performances from Tamale great talents like Fancy Gadem, Deensi, Don Sigli, Tuba Dagomba, Kawastone and The Last Two Dancers.
Earlier in the day, Kaakie visited the Dakpema, the overlord of Tamale who was excited about Kaakie's Maternal Health campaign and the decision to start her campaign and tour in Tamale.
