Rockster4000 will launch a major, multi-day music festival in 2014. The festival will be held in the historical town of Cullinan and aims to transform the area by introducing a powerful entertainment annuity.

The City of Tshwane, who has oversight for the town, are partnering with Rockster4000 to stage this first-of-its-kind in Africa initiative that will leverage music entertainment to generate revenue, jobs and infrastructure upliftment for a town and community in need of a new means of attracting attention to its significant legacy in the history of South Africa.

The large scope and scale of the event is designed to attract attention globally as well as a very real intention to draw in interest from the African continent. Through a multiplicity of skills development, job creation, revenue generating and marketing initiatives the event aligns with several of the City of Tshwanes key objectives. In its launch year this initiative will also be at the heart of the City of Tshwanes Celebration of 20 years of democracy.

Tshwanes City Manager, Jason Ngobeni has hailed the initiative as ground-breaking and a perfect opportunity for the City to anchor 20 years of democracy celebrations in 2014 as well as contributing to the citys objective of ensuring it promotes social cohesion.

The social, cultural and economic benefits to be derived from this initiative are invaluable and Im confident that this initiative will leave a lasting legacy not only to the residents of Tshwane, but countrywide and globally, Ngobeni said.

The festival also aligns with the City of Tshwanes 2055 strategy by focusing on bringing about social cohesion and creating innovation hubs that build and grow opportunity for years to come.

A mix of International and South African talent including a wealth of African artists from a broad range of musical genres are set to perform at the festival, but whilst the organizers have identified a significant amount of desirable performing artists, no artists have been approached or confirmed for the late 2014 dates yet.

High profile international talent will be key to attracting the large audiences expected at the event as well as driving international interest from fans around the globe, but one of the primary strengths of the offering will be the incredible African talent appearing alongside them over the course of the festival. African artists including South Africans will make up more than 90% of the festivals performers.

Rockster4000 and The City of Tshwane will reveal the full details of this ground breaking initiative during the formal announcement and launch event scheduled for Thursday, 7th November 2013.
