Sarkodie and Tigo Exposed!

It is now an open secret that Telecommunication brand Tigo is involved in the yet to be released single by Sarkodie featuring American Rapper Ace Hood , ‘New Guy’ but the extent of their involvement is shrouded in secrecy.

There hasn’t been any official communication from either Sarkodie or Tigo as to what their respective interests are in the song, the video or when and how it would be released.   

There has also been unconfirmed reports that the main reason for Sarkodie’s collaboration with Ace Hood was to invite Ace Hood to Ghana to headline the second edition of the "Tigo Unplugged" Concert after their collaboration is done.

There were reports that Tigo and management of Sarkodie would release an official joint statement on the issue this week because they were busy organising "Ghana meets Naija" as the headline sponsor but after the event which came off on Saturday May 23, there hasn't been any official statement from Tigo or Sarkodie.

A source at Tigo has also hinted Peacefmonline the campany is responsible for the entire Sarkodie - Ace Hood project including the $25,000 reportedly charged by Ace Hood among other costs and Sarkodie's part of the deal is to endoursed the Deezer platform, a number of high profile performances on events sponsored by Tigo among other details.

The Sarkodie-Ace Hood brouhaha....

The manner Sarkodie revealed that it was Ace Hood who first contacted him for a collaboration, Ace Hood’s response and how all the parties involved are going about this whole Sarkodie-Ace Hood brouhaha is just pointing to the fact that this is nothing serious but perhaps a media gimmick just to get some attention for all involved especially Sarkodie, the new single and for the Tigo's Deezer platform and Ace is just playing alone with few cosmetic tweets here and there. 

If there was nothing at stake for Sarkodie and Tigo why would he 'lie through his teeth' the way he did considering how big his brand is getting and why would Tigo also be silent if Sarkodie's claim is as false as it seems?      

The truth is still unfolding as Tigo Music recently announced that the much talked about collaboration between Sarkodie and American rapper Ace Hood would be released on June 10 but later pull down that article from the tigomusic.com.gh portal.

According to Tigo, the track and video will first be released on Tigo Music Deezer app, and it’ll be officially released in June this year 2015. Tigo music has officially released its own promo videos for the new music video, ‘New Guy’.
