The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has congratulated Ghanaian dancehall artiste Stonebwoy on winning the Best International Act: Africa at the 2015 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards.
MSUIGA in a statement said Stonebwoy’s win “is a harbinger of even greater things for the music industry in Ghana”.

The Musicians Union of Ghana would like to congratulate Livingstone Etse Satekla aka Stonebwoy Burniton for winning the 2015 Black Entertainment Television Awards (BET) Awards Best International Act: Africa category.
Indeed your feat from a field that included AKA (South Africa), Fally Ipupa (DR Congo), Sauti Sol (Kenya), The Soil (South Africa), Wizkid (Nigeria) Yemi Alade (Nigeria) and fellow Ghanaian Sarkodie deserves immense commendation and is a harbinger of even greater things for the music industry in Ghana.
As the second Ghanaian to win a BET Award, your achievement is indicative of what the future holds for the Ghanaian music industry and the Union would like to encourage all musicians not to relent in their efforts but to be motivated by your success to spur on to even greater heights.
The Musicians Union would also like to appeal to all stakeholders to continue to offer their support for the industry to enable us harness the huge potential the industry presents.
Your dedication of the award to victims of the June 3 Accra floods is a further indication of your social awareness which deserves commendation.
Stonebwoy was adjudged winner of the award at a pre-recorded event Sunday at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
