Reggae/ Dancehall artiste, Iwan has revealed fellow Dancehall artiste, Samini is the reason behind the tantrums he threw at the Salah Festival which took place last Wednesday at Fadama in Accra.

Iwan said a deliberate attempt to make way for Samini to perform before him saw the event organisers sabotage his act making him experience a number of technical hitches when he mounted the stage. His microphone went off a number of times and the sound was also cut as well.

This angered him soo much that, he lost his temper and become violent, resulting in the damage of some equipment belonging to the DJ and the organisers of the event and had to be whisked off stage by members of his entourage.

In an interview with Showbiz, Iwan explained that he lost his temper because he felt disrespected by the organisers and he believed the technical hitches were deliberate attempts to sabotage him in order to make way for fellow Dancehall artiste, Samini.

“Before I was announced, I was backstage for some time and according to the running order I saw, I was supposed to perform before Samini.

“ However, immediately Edem who was on stage finished performing, I noticed the MC trying to make way for Samini to perform before I did,” he said.

Iwan explained that this made him angry and so he decided to go on stage to perform all the same and at that point, the organisers started making efforts to ruin his performance.

“The moment I took the microphone, the sound started fluctuating,” he said.

He explained that what lends credence to his claims of sabotage was the fact that all the musicians who performed prior to and after his performance did not experience any incidence of malfunctioning equipment.

“I know equipment fail all the time but that is not what happened here. Samini was the reason the organisers decided to sabotage me.

“ This is not the first time Samini has sabotaged me. The same thing happened in 2011 during the Movado concert at the Accra Sports Stadium,” he said.

Iwan explained that the relationship between him and Samini has been tensed for many years now since he believed Samini had deliberately tried to sabotage his performance on a number of occasions.

“I used to have a lot of respect for Samini because I looked up to him as a big brother and I thought he would also support me since we are both from the North but everyone knows he’s not real. He tries to sabotage me and even the fans know the type of person he is,” he said.

However, when Showbiz contacted Tony Pun, manager of Samini,  he said Iwan’s allegations were without merit and not worth responding to.
