The grandpapa of Hiplife, Reggie Rockstone, and the dancehall commando Shatta Wale have both endorsed a pastor who doubles as a rapper.
The Pastor, Ronnie K, speaking on Accra-based Pluzz FM on Thursday, March 3, thrilled listeners with his rap skills which he did with dexterity.
Pastor Rapper Ronnie said he had his senior high school friends nicknaming him Reggie Rockstone for once translating Reggie’s “Plan B” from Twi into Ga.
After Ronnie had given a freestyle of the Ga version of “Plan B,” Reggie called onto the show to express his gratitude to him.
“My DJ sent me a WhatsApp audio. I listened, and I said no wait … [I like it] especially when it is in Ga, and I don’t speak Ga. For literally translating it from Twi into Ga, that’s talent,” Reggie said.
He advised Ronnie to use his talent to draw the youth to God: “I hope you use this [rapping] to connect the young people to God. It’s God’s gift and the style of preaching should never remain archaic.”
Meanwhile, Shatta had earlier sent in his message of endorsement saying that Ronnie is a good rapper. As well, the renowned songwriter Akwaboah also sent a message commending Ronnie.
