The maiden edition of Mr & Miss Accra Psychiatric pageant has been held to celebrate mentally challenged persons.
Seen as a tough idea when it was floated, it finally came off at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital and saw Miss Elinam Agbenu and Mr. Sadat Tahiru crowned winners of ‘Face of Accra Psychiatric’ in the men’s and women’s category respectively.
The show, which was put together by POSITIVE ENERGY PROVIDER, will be organized in other mental hospitals across the country.
Chief Executive Officer, Adaeze Onyinyechi Ayoka disclosed that the Mental Health Tour event was organized to fight the stigmatization suffered by mentally retarded persons.
Pantang Hospital will host the second edition of the Mental Health Tour (Face of Pantang) in August, 2016, Ayoka says.
