Publish Positive Stories About The Miss Ghana Brand - Miss Ghana 2019 Tells The Media

Miss Ghana 2019, Rebecca Kwabi, has urged the Ghanaian media to publish positive stories about the Miss Ghana brand to take it to the level it deserves to be.

Speaking at the launch of Miss Ghana 2020 at the Tang Palace Hotel in Accra on Wednesday, January 29, Rebecca used the opportunity to share her experiences as Miss Ghana 2019.

“I am highly elated to stand before you on such an august day, an enviable platform and at the threshold of another event year. The search has begun for a new Miss Ghana who will continue the excellent jobs under Miss Ghana Foundation.

“Through this journey, I have had a lot of privileges and I must admit that it has been under the commitment, hard work and tactical discipline of Exclusive Events amongst others. I have become tougher and more focused through it all even including the criticisms and mockery from the media.

“In all these, I am appealing to the Ghanaian media to further support the Miss Ghana Foundation and Exclusive Events Ghana Ltd to sell Ghana in our bid to make Ghana the African Tourism hub.

“Every organisation has its challenges but the media seems to often feed too much on negatives rather than helping to project the positives that would help the course of our dear nation.

"Ghana can also win Miss World. Once the media plays its rightful role in positively projecting Ghana, I believe we can,” she stated.

On her part, CEO of Exclusive Events Ghana, Inna Maryam Patty said her outfit was excited about 2020 because they are convinced that it comes with so much hope and better opportunities.

“Growing up, there was a lot of noise on Vision 2020, we are in 2020 and we hope our efforts at Exclusive Events Ghana Limited (EEGL)/ Miss Ghana Foundation (MGF) will continue to contribute to the objectives for Vision 2020 whilst we aim ahead.

“At EEGL, we are inspired by 2020. It is a unique year in which we hope to achieve our most important goal of finding young women who are really passionate about what the Miss Ghana Brand symbolises, patriotic young ladies who are ready to carry the Ghana flag with purpose and pride both at home, abroad and for the rest of their lives,” she said.

“I must confess that this task may sound simple but believe me, it has been a daunting one. I know there are beautiful, cultured, intelligent and disciplined young ladies out there. Do please join the Miss Ghana wagon so together, we can fulfill our shared interest,” she stressed.

Okyeame Kwame is the Made in Ghana Ambassador who is associated with Miss Ghana and he spoke at the launch. ”In 1996, Okyeame Quophi and myself got the opportunity to perform at the Embassy Double Do, we became Akyeame through Miss Ghana.
