Two of Ghana's most promising boxers, Emmanuel 'Game Boy' Tagoe and Raymond 'Chorkor Banku' Commey have both risen two places up in the latest WBA ratings released for October.
Tagoe, managed by Ghana national football team captain, Asamoah Gyan moves from the hitherto number 9 position in the Lightweight ratings to number 7 even before he steps into the ring against South Africa's Sipho Taliwe in Johannesburg on November 13 in a first defence of his WBA International Lightweight belt.
Raymond Commey who is also managed by renowned Ghanaian boxing matchmaker, Solomon Otoo Lartey on the hand rises two places up for the second month in a row since breaking into the WBA Super Bantamweight ratings at number 15 two months ago to now number 11 after being number 13 last month.
It's a massive improvement in the rankings for the Ghanaian duo who are both now within one or two fights respectively of getting shots at the world title itself.
Elsewhere, former IBF Welterweight champion of the world, Joshua 'The Hitter' Clottey maintained his number 3 spot in the Super Welterweight category of the WBA ratings, only behind Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and number one and interim champ, Jack Culkay.
Clottey who celebrated his 38th birthday earlier this week is also rated number 8 by the IBF and number 9 by the WBC, all at Junior Middleweight.
Ghana based Nigerian, Isaac Ekpo who is also rated number 10 Super Middleweight in the world by he WBO is number 11 in the latest WBA ratings.
