The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has fixed the 2009 Awards Night for Saturday, December 19, at the Banquet Hall, State House.
Personalities who distinguished themselves during the 2008 sporting year will be rewarded at the Awards ceremony to be graced by the crème de la crème of Ghana sports.
A statement signed by William Dodzi Ezah, Acting General Secretary of the Association, said the event, organized in partnership with Global Media Alliance, will see over 25 sports men and women to be rewarded for their selfless performance during the year under review.
He said cellular giants, Glo Mobile Ghana are the headline supporters, with Stanbic Ghana Limited, Voltic Ghana Limited, Guinness Ghana Limited, Forewin Ghana Limited, Coca-Cola Bottling Company Limited and State Insurance Company as supporting sponsors.
Mr Ezah added that the formal launch of the event has been scheduled for Tuesday, December 8, at the Media Center of the Ohene Djan Stadia, Accra at 10.a.m.
