Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi has expressed displeasure with the treatment meted to him by the Commission of Inquiry into the 2014 World Cup after he was asked to re-take his oath on the second day of his appearance.

The GFA boss swore by the Holy Quran on Tuesday when he appeared before the Commission to give evidence.

Strangely, instead of being reminded of the oath he had taken the previous day, Mr. Nyantakyi was queried by members of the Commission if indeed he is a Muslim and was further asked to take the oath of allegiance again.

"I use my veto as as the Chairman to ask that he swears again," the Justice ordered.

But the GFA Boss, clearly astonished by the directive, whiles on his feet to take the oath pointed out to the commission that he had seen a report on Citifmonline.com that stated that he will be subjected to that process when he appears on Wednesday.

"...What you are doing is a replay of what is in the media. I don't get it."

Mr. Nyantakyi claimed the publication indicated his second appearance will not be as easy as his first on Tuesday.

"“My Lord, if I were a witness before you standing in the court of law, would you subject me to this kind of treatment? I don’t feel fairly treated at all, with all due respect to you, my Lord," he added.

According to news report on the internet, “Nyantakyi’s mother is muslim and that’s where his Northern accent comes from. He was raised a muslim and was actually incredibly active as a member of the National Muslim Students Union in his tertiary days.”

“In fact, to be sure that Nyantakyi is really a muslim (as there is still some doubt), our sources say he may be asked to swear again on Wednesday”, Godwin Allotey Akweiteh and Gary Al-Smith wrote in their news report for Citifmonline.com.

Mr. Nyantakyi however mentioned that though it could just be coincidence, he found it interesting to know that just as was reported on the website, he was being asked to swear again.

“In fact I read this on the internet yesterday that you are going to do this,” he said.

His comments drew some resentment from members of the Commission especially Moses Foh Amoaning.

"“I am very, very offended by the position that the President of the FA has taken on the basis of an online information and presuming that the question that I asked was a fulfilment of a strategy on Citi Online.

“I feel personally very offended by the position that he has taken and I would wish that he will withdraw that statement – that implication – that means that we had pre-planned this and that that information was known to Citi online. If he chooses not to withdraw, that is fine with me"," he fumed.

Justice Dzamefe then intervened and asked that the witness be reminded of his former oath for proceedings to begin, following an apology rendered by Mr. Nyantakyi.

The GFA president is continuing with his evidence on the happenings in the team’s camp and other issues at have been raised during the Commission’s sittings.
