The Spokesperson for the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Sani Dara says the non-payment of allowances to the Black Queens is due to the failure of the Sports Ministry to consult the Football Association for directives.

According to him, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has been bastardized by some haters of the GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakye to the extent that every Sports Minister who heads the ministry and work with the FA begins to act alerts.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, Sani Dara asserted that there has not been any such payment issue with the team in the earlier editions of the All Africa Games when GFA was in control due to the FA rich experience in tournaments.

He added that the GFA was left off the preparation for this year’s All Africa Games except to help in the training of the players; stressing the FA could not send the players outside for proper training because there was no budget allocated the association.

“Some people don’t like Kwesi Nyantakyi and others want to overthrow him through foul means and so they go to the Sports Ministry to spew lies about the FA to disgrace us. In this year’s All Africa Games, decisions were taken without consulting the GFA,” he revealed.

He emphasized that “you would hear people go out there to gossip about the GFA and when ministers come in place, they are all alert; instead of collaborating to work as a team to honor, you get the feeling that there is no sense of co-operation but a sense of suspicion and mistrust”.

He indicated these suspicions and mistrust feelings has been there despite the effort of the GFA to wholeheartedly work to promote Ghana football and also put up defense for the government all times when things go wrong even on the side of the government.

Taking a clue from the Brazil incident, the GFA spokesperson says the Sports Ministry should have entered into paper agreement with the Black Queens before starting the tournament as that could have given birth to this disgraceful act to affect President Mahama.

He however hinted there was a move by the GFA to handle this year’s All Africa Games but the Sports Ministry took charge of this year’s edition and changed arrangements for the tournament as it forced all the sports disciplines under one budget.
