The National Paralympic Committee (NPC), the body in charge of paralympic sports in Ghana, will hold a press conference to announce preparations for the impending Paralympic Games in Rio, Brasil, today.
The press conference, which will be held at the Media Centre of the Accra Sports Stadium, will afford the NPC the opportunity to brief the media about preparations by the athletes and other key issues ahead of the Games.
It will also be used to highlight some of the challenges confronted by the athletes and efforts to address them.
A statement from the Communication Department of the NPC said the press conference will commence series of media activities designed to create awareness about Ghana’s participation in the games.
It is part of a Media Awareness Campaign designed by the NPC with support Agitos Foundation – the educational and technical wing of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) – ahead of the competition.
The press conference will be attended by officials of the NPC, the National Sports Authority (NSA), Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Gender and Social Protection.
Ghana will be among countries that will participate in the Paralympic Games from September 7 to 18, in Rio.
