The Minister for Youth and Sports Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah has met with the Executives of key identifiable youth groups in the country to discuss the issues and challenges they faced and how the Ministry can provide the required support as part of the Ministry’s commitment towards mobilizing the youth of Ghana for socio-economic development.
The meeting was also to afford the Minister the opportunity to familiarize with their respective modus operandi upon his assumption into office as the Youth and Sports Minister.
Present at the meeting were Groups which are known as the “Big Six” youth groups in the country.
They are the
1.National Youth Authority
2. Ghana Scout Association
3. Ghana Girls Guide Association
4. National Cardet Corps Ghana
5. Head of State Award Scheme
6. Boys and Girls Brigade
7. Ghana Red Cross Association
The Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to ensure that the the youth constitute the major source of human capital for the transformational agenda of the country.
To this end, Hon. Isaac Asiamah assured that all efforts would be made to ensure that these youth groups receive the needed support from the Ministry.
