Renowned Sports Journalist and Head of Sports at Despite Media Group, Mr. Dan Kwaku Yeboah, says he is reliably informed that the Black Stars allegedly took juju to the field during the AFCON qualifier against sudan in Libya.
According to him, some officials of the team went to sprinkle some onions and garlic in the stadium on the day of the encounter before their abysmal performance.
Speaking on Okay FM's Ade Akye Abia programme, he expressed surprised at the report that the Senior National team had undertaken such an action; an action he considered as "disgraceful and shameful".
"How can the Black Stars even decide to do a thing like this in this 21st century where football has advance with so many technological improvements? I believe the team should have focused on how they were going to win the match than engaging in something of this sort.
"I"t is very disgraceful and shameful," he added.
The Black Stars suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of their Sudanese counterparts at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Libya on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
Ahmed Hamed Mahmoud Mohammed and Yousif Yagoub scored the two goals for Sudan to defeat the Black Stars.
Owing to the results, the Black Stars are now third in the group with just two points, while Sudan is second with seven points. Group leaders Angola have qualified with two matches to spare, having amassed twelve points from the first four matches. The next round of matches will be played in November 2024.
