Swimming is not much of a thing for Ghanaians, though some would argue that those who live around coastal Ghana and the many fishermen are great swimmers.
But when we talk about famous international professional swimmers, Ghana currently has none that fits the answer and this is what Kaya Adwoa Forson who will compete as the first ever Ghanaian to swim at the Olympics wants to change.
According to the 2016 Rio Olympics website, Kaya is 14–and she will be competing in women’s 200m swimming freestyle at 17:02 today.
In 2015, she represented Ghana at the World Championships in Kazan, Russia and placed 66th and 44th in the 200m freestyle and 200m backstroke respectively.
Kaya Forson is a Ghanaian based in the Spanish city of Malaga.
