Ghana’s last representative for swimming at the ongoing Rio Olympic Games, Abeiku Jackson, has been eliminated from the competition after finishing sixth in the men’s 50m freestyle on Thursday, 11 August.
The 16-year-old swimmer was in heat five of the men’s 50m but failed to qualify for the next stage after recording a time of 24.30 seconds.
Ghana are now left with thirteen athletes in contention for medals at the Games, after another swimmer Kaya Forson and judoka Szandra Szogedi got eliminated from the competition earlier.
Ghanaian boxer Wahid Oumar Abdul will fight Alberto Ezekiel Melian on Thursday night.
