Barcelona defender Maxwell believes that Pep Guardiola is a better coach than Inter boss Jose Mourinho. Maxwell made the switch from the San Siro to Camp Nou during the summer and told Sport that Guardiola is a coach who makes things easier for his players and is closer to the game, having been a player himself, echoing statements made earlier in the day by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
"The two coaches are very demanding, but with a different mentality and entirely different character," stated Maxwell. "Guardiola is younger [than Mourinho] and until recently was a player, so he has a habit of talking more. He is closer and has a gentler way of saying things."
The 28-year-old also claims that regular conversations with his coach have made a big difference to him. "I talk to Josep Guardiola after practice and he explains things very quietly and slowly, that's much better than having a coach who will not say anything."
