Sellas to work on team’s concentration

The head coach of Ghana’s Black Satellites, Sellas Tetteh will seek to improve on the concentration level of the team as the team cruise to the next stage of the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt after two successful group games.

Coach Tetteh told GNA Sports in Ismailia, Egypt that staying under pressure for the first 15 minutes of their game against England on Tuesday was a sign that the team lacked full concentration, which was therefore an area that must be looked at to aid the team in its steady progress.

Ghana, two goals richer than close contenders and next opponent, Uruguay will need at least a draw on Friday to top the group and stay at Ismailia and the coach insist that the problem which has haunted them during their game against Uzbekistan and England must be solved before the Friday duel.

“We have to take care of that because it is obviously a problem that we start so slowly and stay under pressure before we manage to come into the game.”

Coach Tettey, however, believes of his charges ability to recover through the games and their takeover is a remarkable potential that cannot be overlooked.

“England gave us a scare in the first 15 minutes but the hallmark of any good team is when it is able to recover in time to turn things around in its favour.”

The Satellites went into a peerless mood to cut England to size with four amazing unanswered goals to zoom to the next stage of the competition with a game in hand against Uruguay at the Ismailia Stadium on Friday.

Goals from Dominic Adiyiah, who converted two, plus skipper Andre Ayew’s and Ransford Osei’s effort were all that was needed to seal victory for Ghana to atone yet another slow start.

Ghana will require a win after Uruguay had earlier beaten Uzbekistan 3-0 to leapfrog Satellites to the table’s summit, while the Satellites began slowly and were reduced to shadow chasers in the first 20 minutes against an English side that poured out in search of an early goal.
