The Central Region Schools and Colleges soccer league match between Aggrey Memorial Zion and Assin Fosu Obiri Yeboah Senior High School ended abruptly in the 45th minute after a third-year student of Obiri Yeboah school attacked an assistant referee for awarding an infringement against a player from his school.
At the time of the incident Obiri Yeboah School was leading 1-0.
The incident all started when referee James Whitter whistled for the end of the first half and the student identified as Isaiah Baidoo attacked assistant referee Atta Forson and tore his uniform into pieces.
Referee Whitter then called off the match and later told reporters that he will send his report to the Schools and Colleges Sports Association.
