Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew says his team-mates are hungry to win the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
The Black Stars have not won the continents flagship event since 1982 and there is a sense of believe that this generation of players might end the trophy drought.
Ghana top of Group I in the qualifiers and the Marseille winger admits they can cap an incredible run of form over the past few years by clinching the Nations cup.
You can only test our performance over the period and our display by winning the championship next year. We have a big game against Swaziland at home and victory will mean weve put one feet in the competition, Ayew said.
It wont be easy but we also want to be part of history and so will do our best and make that count.
