Ghana Under-23 captain Samuel Inkoom has revealed he had to forgo half of his FC Dnipro monthly salary before being released for Sundays all-important All Africa Games qualifier against Nigeria.
The 21-year-old rejoined his team-mates in the Ghana camp on Tuesday after the Ukrainian side asked him to report for pre-season last week.
Inkoom has however revealed he had to agree to a salary deduction before being released for the game.
I went there and explained to them the reason why they should allow me for my country but they insisted the game is not on the Fifa calendar so they are not going to release me. Finally they resolved that they will deduct half of my salary if they will release me, he told Accra-based Peace FM
I had to agree to that before I know how important this game is to me, he concluded.
Inkoom will join foreign-based stars Mubarak Wakaso, Isaac Cofie, Masahudu Alhassan, Opoku Agyemang and Dominic Adiyiah on Wednesday.
