Ghanaian winger Ishmael Yartey made another huge statement for a Black Stars place when he scored deep into stoppage to hand Servette a 2-1 victory over Young Boys in the Swiss top-flight on Saturday.
Yartey, who is in great form, scored to move his club up to fifth in the table.
Before Saturdays game Servette were facing dwindling form but the victory has sparked their chances of qualifying for Europe next season.
The victory was Servettes first in six matches which saves the job of coach Joao Alves.
It was his seventh goal of the season which makes him the leagues highest scoring midfielder.
Yartey is Servettes second highest scorer as his presence despite being a midfielder provides a scoring option for the club.
He is among the prolific Ghanaian performers in Europe this season which has led to calls for him to be handed a Black Stars place.
With Andre Ayew injured for the key 2014 World Cup qualifiers in June, Yartey could provide a good option on the left side of midfield with the in-form Sulley Muntari playing just behind the strikers.
