Hearts of Oak thumped second-tier side Elmina Sharks 4-1 to progress to the quarter-final of the MTN Ghana FA Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
All five goals of this fixture were produced in the first half.
Captain Godwin Osei Bonsu blasted home a 6th minute penalty after Kofi Agyare was tripped inside the Sharks box as early as the fifth minute.
Youngster Ollenu Ashitey scored his first senior goal for the club in the 13th minute mark.
The Sharks goalkeeper failed to deal with a Mahatma Otoo long range free-kick as the ball slipped through his arms and came off a defender to make it 3-1.
Before, Ashiwomey Fumador had halved the deficit for Sharks.
Uriah Asante then spectacularly swung home the fourth goal for Hearts after a goalmouth melee was created by the visitorsďż˝ defence.
Sharks were visited in the dressing room before kick-off by their bankroller Paa Kwesi Ndoum who is presidential candidate for the PPP ahead of December�s Presidential elections.
Hearts of Oak will next play AshantiGold FC in the quarter-final.
