Ghana opened its preparations towards the 2014 World Cup qualifiers on a wet Monday afternoon at the Accra Sports Stadium with 17 players.
Akwasi Appiah’s first training session as permanent coach of the the Black Stars ahead of a home game against Lesotho on June 1 before facing African champions Zambia in Lusaka eight days later.
All new members of the technical staff were first introduced to the team after a brief prayer before the session commenced with an all-inclusive jogging routine.
First choice goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey alongside Jordan Ayew, Rabiu Mohammed, Anthony Annan, Massawudu Alhassan and Lee Addy are yet to report to training.
The others yet to report include Harrison Afful, John Boye, debutants Christan Atsu and Ishmael Yartey, Sulley Muntari, Kwadwo Asamoah and leading goal scorer in the Ghana Premier League; Emmanuel Baffour.
Ghana will host Lesotho on June 1 in Kumasi before traveling to battle reigning African champions Zambia a week later.
The team will continue with their training regime on Tuesday at 15:30 GMT.
