Ex-Ghana captain Emmanuel Quarshie has arrived in Egypt to begin treatment of his throat cancer.
His trip has been fully paid for by his former club Zamalek who met him in Accra a fortnight ago ahead of their CAF Champions League clash against Berekum Chelsea.
Quarshie accompanied by former team mate Francis Edzie, left Ghana on Monday night to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, where he will undergo treatment.
It is readily unknown the duration of the duo stay in Egypt but Zamalek are determined to see the full recovery of their former great before he returns to Ghana.
Quarshie was a prominent player for Zamalek during the team�s heyday in the 1980s.
The former Sekondi Hasaacas player helped the Cairo giants to end a six-year Egyptian league drought and was also integral in their maiden CAF Champions League feat in 1984.
He was renowned for his physical prowess and goal-scoring instincts.
Quarshie captained Ghana to win their last Africa Cup of Nations trophy at the 1982 finals in Libya.
