Asante Kotoko striker Ahmed Toure is set to leave the club to his native Ivory Coast. Ghanasoccernet.com can reveal.
The 26-year-old has grown increasingly frustrated at Kotoko after claiming he has been treated like an ‘outcast’ by head coach Maxwell Konadu and his backroom staff.
The former Lokeren FC attacker has not hidden his desire to seek a move away from the Premier League Champions and is now prepared to walk the talk by leaving the club for his native Ivory Coast.
The club’s administrative manager Ben Nti has confirmed the player’s unwillingness to continue his contractural obligations to the Kumasi-based side.
“The issue is not about indiscipline. It is not as if we cannot manage Ahmed Toure. We have managed him up to this level,” Nti told Kumasi-based Fox FM
“But this is the situation that the player says he won’t play again and want to return to his country,”
“If the player says he won’t be play again, can you force him? You can’t do that. It is not a matter of indiscipline so we should get it right.”
Toure has been linked with a number of top sides including giants Hearts of Oak and mega-spenders Berekum Chelsea.
