SPANIARDS Fernando Torres and Juan Mata gave Arsenal El during a pulsating London derby at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners took on Chelsea looking to their own Spanish star Santi Cazorla to continue the form that had given them a promising start to the season.
But Cazorla was snuffed out and the Blues grabbed the points thanks to goals from Torres and Mata either side of Gervinho’s leveller.
Mata hit the winner from a 53rd-minute free-kick aimed to the far post that bounced past Vito Mannone.
Earlier, Torres’ opportunistic strike gave Chelsea the lead on 20 minutes. That was cancelled out by Gervinho’s snapshot inside the box just before the break.Chelsea were thankful to keeper Petr Cech, who made a brilliant late stop to keep out Olivier Giroud’s deflected effort. And the French striker was left with his head in his hands in injury time when he arrowed a presentable chance into the side-netting.
