Ashantigold have suspended midfielder Bernard Akuffo indefinitely for physically assaulting deputy club secretary Richard Adu Gyamfi for questioning his competence.
The former Tema Youth captain is alleged to have lost his cool during their 1-0 home defeat to Medeama last Wednesday and vented his frustration on the deputy secretary.
The club’s deputy scribe is alleged to have criticized the performance of the players which did not go down well with the midfielder.
“I expected him (Bernard Akuffo) and his colleague players to accept the fact that their performance during the match was below standard,” Gyamfi claimed
“Upon passing that comment, he became furious and slapped me in the presence of the club CEO, Mr Cudjoe Fiano.”
Akuffo joined the miners from Tema Youth at the start of the season.
