Juventus have hatched up a plan to prevent Kwadwo Asamoah from playing for Ghana at the 2013 African Cup of Nations, reports in Italy have claimed.

The Italian champions are resigned to losing the talented enforcer for up to a period of three weeks as he will be away on international duty with the Black Stars.

Asamoah has been light out for the Bianconeri this season where he has emerged as one of the standout performers for the side.

Coach Antonio Conte is reluctant to release the former Udinise man for the continental showpiece, fearing his absence could hamper their chances of retaining the Scudetto and also the possibility of getting injured.

Asamoah will miss a chunk of Juventus seria A matches when he decides to respond to international call.

The 22-year-old has been one of Juve’s main contributors so far this season, and people outside of Italy are starting to notice.

With an array of midfield dynamos including Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal, Claudio Marchisio and Paul Pogba, securing a starting position in the midfield triangle was going to be tough.

But the Ghanaian super star has surpassed all expectations by breaking into the star-studded team and become one of their most prized assets in the Juventus set-up.

Reports suggest Juve are trying to talk the former Liberty Professionals man out of going to the African Cup of Nations as his invaluable services will be solely missed.

There is widespread believe that Juventus officials are hatching up a grand-ploy to stop Asamoah from playing for the West African giants at the Nations Cup in January.

Michael Essien is reported to have feigned an injury to miss the 2006 Nations Cup held in Egypt.

The Black Stars are deserious of ending a long-wait for an African crown and will need the services of Asamoah and other experienced players to win the title in South Africa
