Kwesi Nyantakyi reckons the Black Maidens will be named African Women’s National Team of the Year at tomorrow's Glo Caf awards.
The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), was speaking at the Kotoka International Airport when he met Issa Hayatou on Tuesday.
"Our ladies’ performance in Azerbaijan is the best ever achieved by any African team. So it’s very clear that they will beat all other competition to win the award," he said.
For Nyantakyi, what the ladies achieved is better than anything else any African national team has had to offer in the year under review. Ghana won bronze at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Azerbaijan.
Ghana’s U-17 women’s national team will have to fend off competition for Women’s National Team of the Year for this year from Equatorial Guinea, who are African Women’s Champions, as well as Nigeria’s Super Falcons.
