Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah says ''senseless'' reports of match-fixing has not affected his preparations for Saturday's Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final clash.
Correspondents of the Ghana News Agency and Radio Gold claimed on Thursday that Ghana striker Gyan met Ghana-born Niger defender Kofi Dankwa on the eve of the game in an attempt to throw the game in favour of the Black Stars.
Ghana beat Niger 3-0 last Monday to head Group B but the irony is that Dankwa scored a goal against the Black Stars which was disallowed-TV replay proved it was a legitimate goal.
The Ghana Football Association has issued damning statement damning the publication and has false, reckless and mischievous.
Appiah, an ex-Ghana captain, took time to address the issue ahead of his final training session before playing Cape Verde in Port Elizabeth.
"I heard about this negativity that you spoke off. For me there is no truth in it,'' Appiah said
"Everyone who watched the game will see that it doesnt actually even make sense.
"At the end of the day, the FA has issued an official statement on it. What I need to do is concentrate on the game ahead.
"My boys are very focused on our game. As to what someone is suggesting or thinking, it up to that person."
