Information available to Peacefmonline.com indicates that sons of Ghana Maestro, Abedi Ayew Pele; Andre Ayew and Jordan Ayew, have asked the Ghana Football Association(GFA) to excuse them from future call-up into the team.

According to Peace Power Sports' Dan Kwaku Yeboah who reported the news, the brothers turned in their resignation letter to the GFA on Tuesday.

The two were left out in the Black Stars squad for the just ended Africa Cup of Nation in South Africa.

He said; “It is very true the Ayew brothers have quit the Black Stars, for me I am very sad,”.

According to him, Andre and Jordan Ayew have officially submitted their resignation letter to the Ghana Football Association.

“They(Dede and Jordan) today officially told the GFA about their resignation from the team,” he told Peace FM.

According to Kwaku Yeboah, Jordan Ayew gave reasons that he thought the Ghana Football Association think he is not matured, experience and good enough to play for the senior national team so want to seek permission from the GFA to take a break and concentrate more on his club football to build up.

On the other hand, Andre Ayew was much disappointed for his elimination from the team that played in the AFCON tournament in South Africa.

According to Andre, psychologically he needs to take a break from the team.

Andre Ayew disclosed after his exclusion from the squad that he was shocked to have been left out of the Black Stars for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

The news came as a big disappointment to him since he was committed to make it to South Africa, despite his hamstring injury.

“It was shocking. The coach based on the fact that he only wanted players [who are 100%], which is surprising because apparently there are a lot of casualties there,” Ayew revealed.

“I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed. It made me know some people in the staff and federation.”

"Ghana is a big nation. There are things happening that are not normal, Kevin-Prince Boateng issue shows that there are reasons,” Ayew added.

On his part, Jordan Ayew attacked the GFA for his exclusion.

The 20-year-old said there was more to his dropping from the Black Stars squad other than footballing reasons as stated by Kwesi Appiah.

“It’s not so bad not to be taken with Ghana squad (for the Africa Cup of Nations). This is Africa you know,” Ayew told French newspaper L’Equipe.

“I do not want to go into details, but if Kevin-Prince Boateng left the team, it is not for nothing.

“Many things happen with the Federation of Ghana. I cannot tell you … There are things that are not normal,” he concluded.

The Ghana Football Association is yet to come out with a statement to confirm the Ayew brothers resignation.

Basis For Ayew Brothers AFCON Exclusion

Andre Ayew was dropped from the Ghana squad for the 2013 African Cup of Nations with just ten days to the start of the competition.

Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah confirmed his decision in an official statement, from the team's camp based in Abu Dhabi.

Andre, who was receiving treatment for a leg injury had planned to arrive on Tuesday, a day before CAF's Wednesday deadline for the submission of the final squad, but the Olympique Marseille attacker was left out of the squad after failing to report to camp as scheduled.

"I have decided to exclude midfielder Andre Ayew from the Ghana squad for the 2013 African Cup of Nations," the Ghana coach said in a signed statement.

"Following Andre's inability to join the Black Stars squad by Monday morning for Ghana's team doctors to assess the extent of his injury and fitness for the tournament, I have decided to work only with the players currently in camp.

"All the players were given the deadline of Saturday to report to camp in Abu Dhabi unfortunately Andre did not turn up despite being released by his club and air tickets provided by the GFA for him to travel from France to beat the deadline.

"As he did not turn up by Saturday night, I ordered for him to be contacted over his absence but he said he could not depart from France because he was seeing his doctors," Coach Kwesi Appiah said in his statement prior to the AFCON 2013 tournament.

Commenting on Jordan Ayew, Kwesi Appiah added: “Jordan is a good player and has many years ahead of him...I don’t think it will be advisable to pinpoint reasons why I dropped him. Ghana has a pool of talents.

“There are thousands of them especially in the local league. If he’s not in now, I have selected the players I believe can deliver for the nation.

“But it doesn’t mean he will not be part of the national team. I have given many players the chance to play and I settled on these ones".
