Accra Hearts of Oak look set to outdoor a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the end of the season.

Board Chairman, Togbe Afede XIV, has assumed leadership of the clubs day-to-day administration following the exit of Fred Crentsil at the beginning of the season, and is expected to hold the fort throughout the season.

A highly placed source has told GNA Sports the cubs hierarchy has opted for the Board Chairman to continue in his double role, in order for the appointment of a substantive not to disrupt their focus for the remainder of the season.

The source hinted that seven persons have been tagged the frontrunners for the vacant position as at the April 20 deadline, advertised by the club.

Vincent Sowah Odotei, a former CEO of the club and Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe, one-time head of the clubs Supporters wing are amongst the applicants said to have tendered in their formal bids.

Others are a United States based Business Executive, Raymond Addo and ex-player Joe Dakota, who has been domiciled in the United States since hanging his boots.

Odotei, who cut his football administration skills with the Phobians three years ago has been out of the game since severing ties with King Faisal, guiding them back to the elite division after a year in the second-tier league.

Armstrong-Mortagbe has been linked to the Heart top job in recent times with traits of his marketing prowess in some contracts landed by the Ghana Football Association (GFA). Now CEO of Optimum Media Prime (OMP), right holders of the Premier League, has been on the quiet after a failed ambition to unseat Kwesi Nyantakyi at the helm of the GFA.

Not much in known of Addo whilst Dakota featured for the Phobians in the early 70s.
