Black Stars manager, Kwesi Appiah is ranked the 69th best coach in the world, according to the Institute of Football Coaching Statistics (IFCS).

Appiah, who turns 53 on June 30, moved three places up of his previous 72nd position, with a point haul of 3721 according to the latest ranking of the Netherlands-based IFCS.

Information gathered by GNA Sports indicates the Stars trainer is ranked above globally acclaimed coaches such as Argentine Jose Pekerman (79th), now in charge of Colombia, Belgian George Leekens (90th), Frenchman Raymond Domenech (97th) and Dutchman Louis Van Gaal (100th).

Appiah is even ranked higher than his predecessor, Goran Stevanovic, who occupies the 89th position. He has been in charge of the Black Stars a little over a year and steered the team to a fourth place finish at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa last February.

At the continental level, Egypt coach Bob Bradley sits at the fifth position with Frenchman Michel Dussuyer, now in charge of Equatorial Guinea at 19th position, with Zambia coach Herve Renard (24th), Egypt legend Hassan Shehata (26th), Stephen Keshi (27th), Francois Zahoui (45th), Sami Trabelsi (52nd), Alain Giresse (53rd), Kinnah Phiri (63rd), Claude Le Roy (65th) and Rabah Saadane (66th) in that order.

The top 10 national team coaches in that order are; Vicente Del Bosque (Spain), Joachim Low (Germany), Bert Van Marwijk (formerly of Netherlands), Oscar Tabarez (Uruguay), Bob Bradley (Egypt), Reinaldo Rueda (Ecuador), Fabio Capello (Russia), Morten Olsen (Denmark), Cesare Prandelli (Italy) and Cesar Farias (Venezuela).

The Football Coach World Ranking is worlds first ranking of football coaches based on actual performance. The national team coach ranking is monthly calculated on the results of 3,800 national soccer matches played over the last 48 months.

The coaches earn ranking points in those international matches that give points for FIFAs World Ranking. Founded in the Netherlands in 2010, the Institute of Football Coaching Statistics is an independent provider of football coach performance data and statistical analysis.
