Joseph Yammin, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports has called on stakeholders to assist in identifying talented young footballers to replenish the Black Stars.
These talents he said, could be nursed and nurtured to ultimately become stars to be infused into the Black Stars.
Mr Yammin made the call while opening the third edition of the national Airtel Rising Stars underway at the Sunyani Coronation Park.
Airtel Rising Star is a football talent initiative by Airtel and seeks to discover and nurture talented male and female footballers under the age of 17 years.
He said the sustainability of the national teams largely hinged on the collaborative effort of all stakeholders. He urged coaches to make goal scoring a priority when identifying and nurturing talent.
The Deputy Minister lauded Airtel for the initiative and assured that the ministry would consider the proposal to integrate the products of the tournament into the national teams.
