The son of Ghana football legend has passed his medicals with the Phobians and is set to sign a two-year deal.
Ghana midfielder Rahim Ayew passed a Hearts of Oak medical on Thursday evening ahead of a potential two-year deal with the former continental masters.
Rahim went through a successful medical examination at the Ridge Hospital in Accra and is expected to sign the contract by the close of the week.
The 25-year-old has been training with the Phobians for the past three weeks and has impressed coach David Duncan. His contract with Belgian Jupiler League side SK Lierse was not extended after it ended this summer
Ayew is making a return to the Ghana Premier League after featuring for now relegated Sekondi Eleven Wise in the 2009-0 season.
He moved to Egyptian side Zamalek after impressing for Ghana in the maiden edition of the CHAN but hardly found his feet before moving to Belgium.
