Ghana football legend Mohammed Polo has advised Black Stars head coach, Kwesi Appiah not to strategize his midfield tactics around Germany born Ghanaian midfielder, Kevin-Prince Boateng.

According to him, the 26-year-olds frequent injuries have become worrisome to the squad ahead of crucial FIFA World Cup play-off qualifiers against Egypt.

The Schalke 04 play maker was purportedly to have admitted to stay in Germany to have his knee examined by his club medical team. Thus, he will not be available for Ghanas squad that will face Egypt on October 15.

Kevin-Prince Boateng who missed Ghanas FIFA group stage World Cup qualifier against Zambia due to injury again picked up another knee injury on Saturday when Schalke 04 beat Augusburg 4-1 in the Germany Bundesliga.

Speaking to Radio XYZ, Mohammed Polo also known as the Dribbling Magician opined that
He (Kwesi Appiah) shouldnt rely on him (Kevin-Prince Boateng). Naturally KP Boateng is a good player but if a good player does not want to work for you, you dont force him. Its just like taking the horse to the river side; you cant force it to drinkbecause it will never drink.

Even if he is forced onto the pitch to play, I dont think he will do his best. We should forget him but if they (GFA) still want him fine. As a Ghanaian and a football person, I think he should not be rely on, he added.

Meanwhile, ahead of Ghanas crucial encounter with Egypt, some key players in the Black Stars squad (Jonathan Mensah, Isaac Vorsah and KP Boateng) have all been ruled out due to injuries but Polo believes opportunities must also be giving to the bench players to justify their inclusion.

They (Technical team) have to prepare the minds of those who are ready, its very difficult because we always want to see the best on the field. Its just unfortunate things are getting out of hands. We dont have to give up because you may not know and its an opportunity for those who are fit to show that in the absence of the first team, they are there to stand for Ghana and they must defend Ghana very well because this game is in the heart of Ghanaians, Mohammed Polo concluded.
