Asante Kotoko chief Opoku Nti claims the move to sign Ghana midfielder Rahim Ayew remains on the cards.
The 25-year-olds move to the champions appeared to have hit a snag after going cold for weeks despite the player taking a medical.
Ayew wants to join Kotoko in his bid to resurrect his career which has stalled since his release from Belgian club SK Lierse at the end of the last European season.
Earlier reports suggested the son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele was making exorbitant demands which saw the cancelled the move.
But Kotokos interims management head Nti says the club is still interested in signing Ayew but for must wait for the transfer window to re-open in order to activate the move.
It is not over yet as far as Rahim is concerned. Even if we sign him now, he cannot play for us until the next transfer window is opened, Nti told Metro FM.
So we are just buying time and in the process raise funds to seal the deal.
